On July 1st Areyvut staff and interns headed to NYC for a fun and informative time! We had the opportunity to meet with Stefanie Zelkind, Director of Youth Philanthropy and Malka Jampol, Summer Intern for the Jewish Teen Funders Network (JTFN). This network provides Jewish teens with opportunities to connect with other Jewish teens in philanthropic giving through Jewish values. JTFN is gaining notice throughout the country evidenced by the number of Jewish teens involved in philanthropy programs and by working with other professional leaders.
Stefanie spoke with us about the importance of Jewish youth philanthropy, its various models as well as JTFN and its structure. Additionally, Malka addressed the group about her journey to becoming a JTFN summer intern as well as her unique graduate program.
While in NYC the interns were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of chesed opportunities in an effort to spread the kindness. We thank Stefanie and Malka for taking the time to meet with us.
