The world needs more kindness.
No matter where you live, what your personal beliefs are or whom you interact with on a day-to-day basis, it is clear that the world needs more kindness. We need ways to appreciate one another and to actively help make the world a better, nicer, more compassionate place.

On Sunday, April 2, as part of Areyvut’s 13th National Mitzvah Day in partnership with Good Deeds Day, Areyvut invites schools, synagogues, families, community organizations and individuals to fill the day with kindness. Areyvut is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people to infuse their lives with the core Jewish values of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (social justice). Areyvut’s National Mitzvah Day is the perfect opportunity to actively give to your community and actively make a difference. We ask that you commit to service programs and acts of kindness at specific times so that on April 2 we can facilitate kindness continuously for an entire 24 hour period.

We offer you four ways to be involved in this unbelievable kindness opportunity. You can participate, plan, partner and pledge.

Participate by selecting an idea from this list and doing that act of kindness on April 2.

Plan a program for your community. Use this planning unit and hands on projects to develop a program to meet the needs of your community. These materials provide ideas and resources for all ages to help you meaningfully join this effort.

Partner with us and help us engage your family, friends, colleagues and network in this program.

Pledge your financial support and help us actively add kindness to the world.

This world cannot be a better place without you.
