Description of Organization:

UJA-Federation of New York is the world’s leading local philanthropy, changing the lives of more then 4.5 million people every year. UJA-Federation’s mission is to care for those in need, shape our Jewish future, and respond in times of crisis and recovery. For over 100 years, UJA-Federation has cared for people in need here in New York, in Israel, and in over 70 countries around the world.

Bnai Mitzvah Projects or Volunteer Opportunities offered by the organization for children ages 11 - 13:

UJA-Federation’s Give a Mitzvah-Do a Mitzvah program helps bar and bat mitzvah-aged children find a volunteer and funding project that’s meaningful and unique to them and their interests. Children becoming a bar or bat mitzvah work with a UJA Mitzvah Coordinator to brainstorm how they can turn their passions and the causes they care about into a mitzvah project. The minimum donation per project is $1,000, and 100% of the funds will go directly to the program or cause selected.

Minimum Age to Volunteer:
