Description of Organization:

Skilled Volunteers for Israel (SVFI) is a US nonprofit whose mission is to connect Jewish adults with Israel through high impact volunteering. SVFI individualizes each volunteer assignment by matching participants’ skills and interests with relevant and meaningful volunteer opportunities in nonprofit and educational organizations in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. SVFI’s volunteers immerse themselves in Israeli society by living and working with the local population. Local staff provide personalized orientation and support throughout the volunteer’s stay.

Their program is unique because they specifically target older adults and active retirees who bring a wealth of life and professional experience to Israeli partner organizations.

  2. Education – Support students’ English language learning by working 1:1 or in small groups in schools and learning centers
  3. Israeli Civil Society – Contribute through customized skill-based projects supporting Israeli nonprofits
