Description of Organization:
Second Chance Toys focuses on their two most precious resources – children and the environment- by donating gently used plastic toys to organizations that care for children in need. They mobilize individuals, businesses, troops, houses of worship and schools to conduct collections. We offer resources including flyers, press materials, toy tags, activity booklets to help promote the the collections. While Second Chance Toys are based in NYC, they manage collections all over the tri-state area and all over the country.
Bnai Mitzvah Projects or Volunteer Opportunities offered by the organization for children ages 11 - 13:
Volunteer opportunities include holding onto your gently used plastic toy collections during any one of these two times a year: in March/April for Earth Month, and in November/December for the holidays. Once you sign up to collect (on or after March 1 or November 1), they match you with a local organization that will take your collection of toys.
Minimum Age to Volunteer:
Could be any age, can volunteer with Hebrew School class or with your family.
