Description of Organization:

Jerusalem Hills provide both a warm home and therapeutic framework for over 125 children ages 7-18, all of whom are children-at-risk with severe emotional, behavioral and learning disorders. The children come from all parts of Israel. Many of them have been victims of abuse – emotional, physical and sexual – and some are placed at our facilities by court order.

Bnai Mitzvah Projects or Volunteer Opportunities offered by the organization for children ages 11 - 13:

The Program is usually 2 hours long and includes a short explanation of who we are what we do and who the children are in our care. Most volunteer programs include some interaction with the children themselves.
Our main volunteer activity is painting the walls in either the living quarters, the school or the therapy buildings of our 6 building campus. This is an activity that can happen all year long no matter the weather. We almost always have our children join the painting, especially if it is in their classrooms or living quarters, which presents a non-threatening venue for them to meet and interact with our visitors.
