Background: For years Areyvut has facilitated a wide array of hands on projects that have been donated to local and Israel based non-profit agencies. Many students are home for the summer and seeking fun and meaningful opportunities in the evening.  Building on the success of last week’s inagural session we are pleased to continue Pizza & Projects, a new pop up hands on weekly project  that we anticipate will run one night per week for the next four weeks.

Pizza & Projects: The program is for incoming 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th graders and will take place in the back room at EJ’s. No prior experience is necessary.

While parents are encouraged to stay and dine at EJ’s with their family, Pizza and Projects is geared for students going into 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

Session 2: Create a Klee

  • Are you passionate about Israel?
  • Do you like Israeli snacks?
  • Do you enjoy supporting Israel?

If you answered yes to any of these questions you will love this project.

During this session, participants will create a Klee, a dish that will take home at the conclusion of the program to remind them and their family to Think Israel and Buy Israeli products.

When the participants get home they should bake their Klee in the oven for 30 minutes at 325°F. Remember to place the Klee in the oven before it heats up and leave it in until the oven cools completely so there won’t be any cracks.

Fill your Klee with products from Israel. Put your Klee on display in your home for everyone to see and offer guests a snack – a product from Israel- from your Klee.

It promises to be a fun, meaningful and productive hour.

Future Sessions: We anticipate the remaining sessions of the program will meet from 6 to 7 on Monday’s and are coordinating all the details and all future sessions will be posted at https://areyvut.org/events/.

Fee: $15 per session and that will include pizza, a drink and the supplies for the project.

You can register in advance below or if you prefer can simply send your child with cash or a check made payable to Areyvut.

We do not want money to be a barrier to participation. If your child wants to participate and the $15 poses a challenge please contact us at 201-244-6702 or via e-mail at info@areyvut.org and we will make sure your child can participate.

If you want to sponsor and/or underwrite this program please let us know.

Our Host: We are grateful to EJ’s Place for their hospitality, ongoing support and partnership.
