Daniel Rothner, Areyvut’s Founder and Director, will be giving a presentation at the JCC’s of Chicago on Wednesday, January 23rd that will highlight ways to use the Jewish holidays to engage children and their families with chesed (kindness). He will discuss the meaning of service learning and how to incorporate this powerful approach into classroom lessons in a natural and organic method. The interactive presentation will provide concrete service examples for participants to utilize with their students throughout the Jewish year. It is Daniel’s hope that by attending this presentation those in attendance will better be able to incorporate the values of chesed, tzedakah and tikkun olam effortlessly on a regular basis.

The program will be taking place at 9 am at the Mayer Kaplan JCC and is free and open to all area Jewish educators.
