On Sunday, December 4 from 2-5pm, Areyvut will be running a Mitzvah Clowning training session at Brighton Gardens. Participants ages 11 and up will join the over 500 people who have been trained to date and learn how to apply clown make-up, create balloon animals and engage in exercises to better prepare for interacting with those who may be different from them. They will learn about the Jewish values of Kavod HaBriyot (human dignity) and Bikkur Cholim (visiting the sick). After the training, these newest Mitzvah Clowns put into action what they learn by visiting those in need of a smile. Each month, the Mitzvah Clowns will go on site visits to local senior centers and other facilities.
The cost to participate in this program is $250. This fee includes a clown kit, costume, and supplies for site visits and also covers operational costs of the program. After joining, you are invited to participate in Areyvut’s Mitzvah Clown visits for as many years as you’d like!
Sponsorship opportunities are available. All sponsorships are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law and all donors will receive our ongoing appreciation and letters for tax purposes.
