Areyvut is pleased to announce the winners of our

2011 Bnai Mitzvah Video Essay Contest.

Mazal Tov and Congratulations!

Pink Star  Yael Muroff  Pink Star

Harrisburg, PA

Grand Prize Winner

Pink Star  Hannah Levitin  Pink Star

Beachwood, OH

Runner-Up

Yael’s video focused on the 9-11 CommUNITY Concert she coordinated in conjunction with her Bat Mitzvah and in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.  The proceeds from the concert, over $11,000 in all, were donated to a variety of organizations based in Harrisburg, Yael’s hometown.

For her Bat Mitzvah project, Hannah raised funds and awareness and assembled packages for Tomchei Shabbos of Cleveland.  In her video essay Hannah asserted the importance of helping those in her community celebrate Shabbat in a way that many take for granted.

Yael’s and Hannah’s video essays were truly inspiring and we hope that you will the take the time to learn about the work they have done in their communities.  To view their winning essays, click here.
