2025 Summer Intern

2025 Summer Intern

2025 Summer Intern – Areyvut

Launched in 2002, Areyvut’s mission is to strengthen the culture of chesed (kindness), tzedakah (charity), and tikkun olam (social action) in contemporary Jewish life. We offer programs, services and resources that infuse these core Jewish values into all stages of the lifecycle, across the entire spectrum of affiliation and observance and in partnership with the full range of communal institutions.

Areyvut seeks Summer Interns – virtual, in-person and hybrid – who are eager to actively use their passion, skills and talents to make meaningful contributions, learn about the non-profit world, and challenge and develop themselves. This position is ideal for those interested in pursuing a career in education, Jewish education, non-profit programs, operations, development/fundraising, event planning, entrepreneurship and/or publishing.  Interns will work under the supervision of Daniel Rothner, Areyvut’s Founder & Director.

To meet the needs of today’s applicants and maximize participation, we offer significant flexibility.  Interns can design a schedule that works with their other commitments and can choose in-person (at our office in Bergenfield, NJ), virtual or hybrid options.  Stipends will begin at $180 and go as high as $1,800 depending on the project and number of completed hours. Payment is project-based and will be made only upon satisfactory completion of the assigned project(s).  We welcome applicants with limited availability (less than 15 total hours) to participate as volunteers.

Recognizing that many individuals have had their regular summer plans disrupted due to Israel’s war with Iran, we will do our utmost to offer additional flexibility to help accommodate those who are no longer able to attend their previously scheduled summer programs.

Over the years, Areyvut has had the privilege of working with more than 100 interns, many of whom have gone on to leadership roles in Jewish education, community engagement and the broader nonprofit sector.  This internship is a proven springboard for professional development and meaningful impact.
