Description of Organization:
Cell Phones For Soldiers is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to serving troops and veterans with free communication services and emergency funding. The organization was founded in 2004 by Robbie and Brittany Bergquist at the ages of 12 and 13. To date, Cell Phones For Soldiers has provided more than 300 million minutes of talk time to our troops serving around the world through the Minutes That Matter program, and we continue Helping Heroes Home via emergency funds that so far have assisted more than 3,100 veterans.
Bnai Mitzvah Projects or Volunteer Opportunities offered by the organization for children ages 11 - 13:
Cell Phones for Soldiers collects and recycles used cell phones in order to generate a profit to purchase prepaid calling cards which we send to active duty service members serving around the world. You will be collecting cell phones sending them to Cell Phones for Soldiers’ recycling facility to be processed.
