Now more than ever, the world needs more kindness. And so we want to fill the entire 24 hours of April 15, 2018 (National Mitzvah Day) with good deeds and kindness.
Now entering its 14th year, National Mitzvah Day, our national community service initiative actively engages everyone, from children to senior citizens, in giving back to the community through hands-on social action programs. This, we believe, is a first step toward greater commitment to making a difference.
Areyvut invites individuals, schools, synagogues, families, and community organizations around the world to create programs dedicated to actively helping others. Our goal is to have hands-on chesed programs going on across the world continuously for the entire 24 hours of April 15, 2018.
The event welcomes individuals and groups of all ages, cultures and backgrounds to come together and make a measurable difference in the world. Any act of kindness—no matter how big or small—can positively impact the world. Individual volunteers joining forces on this day amplify the impact, bring people together, and create a sense of unity.
