Anyone who watched, heard or read about last nights Major League Baseball
All Star Game is well aware of the focus on
service and honoring “
All Stars Among Us,” outstanding volunteers who were recognized for their acts of service to others. It is wonderful that America’s pastime devoted time, money and
energy to highlight communal involvement. This message is what
Areyvut is all about. We do it every day and applaud
Major League Baseball and
President Obama for helping to highlight the importance of this work and look forward to working with them in the future.
In related news The United Jewish Communities is set to announce today a new initiative called Jewish Community Heroes. We look forward to learning more about this project and continued efforts to recognize, highlight and honor those people who dedicate themselves to helping those in need.
