Micol Zimmerman Burkeman’s article about collaboration emphasizes the importance of working together within the Jewish community. He quotes Kohelet from chapter 4 verses 9 and 10 which state, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, once can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” Supporting one another in executing programs and turning ideas into events takes a team, and working well with one another is key to that efficiency. The author brings up intra-collaboration and how it can either be problematic or useful within the organization. Reading this article is a reminder to every one of us, that respecting those we work with and listening well to their ideas, allows for us to form a more cohesive unit which will work to better serve those in our communities.
