My Ethical Issue Project Planning Guide

Posted on January 25, 2013

Areyvut is proud to be one of the educational service providers in the Westchester Jewish Teen Learning Initiative (WJTLI), an exciting project from The Jewish Education Project. As part of the program we are leading a program on Ethical Issues at Kol Ami. We are working on developing a group project relating to an issue that the group will select at the next session. The form below can be used when working with a group to establish a social justice project.

My Ethical Issue Planning Guide

The ethical issue I would like my project to address is     .  Now that I know I want to address                      , I’m going to start developing my project.  My first project idea (the one that I would want to do if there were no barriers to making it happen at all) is                           .  This project is important and addresses the ethical issue of             because of:
1.
2.
3.

Because the world is not a perfect place, my second choice project is           .  This project is also important and still addresses the ethical issue of            because:
1.
2.
3.

Finally, my really, really backup plan is                   .  It’s not my first or even my second choice, but it still addresses all of the concerns brought on by the ethical issue I am tackling of                because:
1.
2.
3.

Okay, now that I have my ideas, I have to start thinking about what supplies and/or resources I will need to see one of these ideas through.  In order to complete my first idea I will need the following items:              which I can get at          .  I will/will not (circle one) need help from other people.  The way someone could help me is by        …and I will also need/not need (circle one) any additional money.

In order to complete my second idea I will need the following items:      which I can get at            .  I will/will not (circle one) need help from other people.  The way someone could help me is by                 …and I will also need/not need (circle one) any additional money.  This idea seems more/less (circle one) feasible than my first idea.

In order to complete my third idea I will need the following items:            which I can get at                       .  I will/will not (circle one) need help from other people.  The way someone could help me is by                        …and I will also need/not need (circle one) any additional money.  This idea seems more/less (circle one) feasible than any of my other ideas and I really think I could make this one happen.

There is an organization I am aware of that addresses the issue that I am working on (no matter which project I select).  Its name is                  .  If I needed help or wanted guidance, I bet this organization would be able to help me out in the following way                      .  I can get contact information and reach out to someone at the organization by           .

I’m ready to go and really think my first/second/third (circle one) project idea is the way to go.  My next step in preparing this project is to                                                                    .
