Better Together: A Transformational Intergenerational Experience

If you are interested, even if you are unable to attend the initial session on Wednesday, December 3, please contact us to express your interest.

We’re excited to launch a new year and cohort of Better Together, an inspiring leadership program designed for high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. This unique initiative connects teens with senior citizens, fostering meaningful relationships while helping participants grow, reflect and develop life skills that last well beyond the program.

Why Join Better Together?

• You are a leader. This program will help you strengthen leadership skills and confidence.
• Build commUNITY. Meet peers from different grades and schools while creating bonds across generations.
• Make a real impact. Spend quality time with residents—play games, do arts and crafts and more.
• Stand out for college. Participation looks great on applications and can inspire powerful essays.
• Grow personally. Learn empathy, communication and teamwork skills that will serve you for life.
• Give back. Make a difference in the lives of others—and be transformed in the process.

Special Opportunity

Better Together includes an Essay Contest. If at least 10 participants submit essays, one will win $5,000 toward a future Jewish experience such as summer camp or an Israel trip. While the program itself is rewarding, this adds an exciting bonus!

Commitment

Joining Better Together is like joining a team—you commit to attending every session. We’ve made it easy by scheduling sessions back-to-back:

• 5:30–6:30 PM: Connect with seniors at CareOne (544 Teaneck Road)
• 6:30–7:30 PM: Enjoy dinner and a teen-only training session

How to Join

E-mail info@areyvut.org with:

• Your grade, school, home address and cell phone number
• A brief note on why you want to participate

Accepted participants will provide parent contact details so we can keep families informed.

If you have a conflict for one session but are eager to join, please still apply!
