Chesed Day at Yavneh Academy a Great Success!

Yavneh Chesed DayOn Monday, June 20th, the Areyvut staff and interns facilitated the Yavneh Academy Chesed Fair. Throughout the day over 385 students in the 1st through 5th grades created, developed and decorated projects, ranging from bookmarks to flower pots to friendship bracelets. The completed projects were presented to organizational representatives from Chai Lifeline, Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County, Jewish Family Service of Bergen County and Project Literacy. Areyvut is happy to have coordinated this program for the students of Yavneh Academy and thank the organizations for their willingness to participate and involvement in the program.

This summer Areyvut’s interns will be working on a variety of programs and projects including, “Make a Difference” Day 2012, Bnai Mitzvah program development, Areyvut’s “A Kindness a Day” Calendar, grant writing and so much more. We are so fortunate to have such a fantastic group of enthusiastic interns join us this summer.

In addition to completing work in the office, they are also making a difference in the community by going on weekly volunteering trips with the Areyvut staff. We are looking forward to a fun, meaningful, and productive summer!
