In an article in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, Suzanne Perry discusses the unfortunate reality of the “stubborn 2% giving rate.” According to this article, Americans have been giving about the same amount of money to charities for the past four decades. Perry sees this as a problem, considering that there are many more charities and other causes that need money.
