Philanthropy Camp

The Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga and the Chattanooga First Church of the Nazarene have created a summer camp focused on teaching young children how to affect change in the world.  At the camp, children are taken on field trips, presented with guest speakers, and other activities, in order to impress upon them the idea that philanthropy is much more than donating money to charities.  Many parents have found that the camp helps to implant an awareness of giving to others in their children, which is really a wonderful and special thing.  Camps and organizations like this one are really important programs that have the ability to inculcate in our youth that giving to others and doing chesed are not just nice things to do, but that they are a way of life.
