Today is Veteran’s Day and many communities have parades, memorials and tributes. As we thank about and remember our veterans I want to highlight two agencies that offer chesed and service opportunities that help American troops. Bold Brave Courageous provides comfort items and encouragement to wounded servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan at major military hospitals and through more than 3,000 collection sites across the country Cell Phones for Soldiers turns old cell phones into more than 12 million minutes of prepaid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas.
