Preparing for Rosh Hashana

Posted on September 18, 2009

In just a few hours we will be celebrating Rosh Hashana. Here are a few videos that may help inspire you to think about the holiday and the upcoming year 5770 and to have a more meaningful holiday.

This video will impact how you pray over Rosh Hashana and enable you to literally see the power of prayer and the role God plays in the world.

Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Sacks provides an inspiring Rosh Hashana message that will help you rethink what life means, how you look at time and think about your car. If you want to be inspired by Rabbi Sacks on a weekly basis, I encourage you to sign up for his thoughts on the weekly Parsha.

This video from Aish will provide you with a unique and important perspective on growth during this season of introspection.

You can also watch President Obama’s Rosh Hashana greeting where he wants us to rededicate ourselves to chesed, tzedakah and tikkun olam. He may not have used those words but the president certainly underscores those concepts and core Jewish values.

I hope you find these videos helpful in your last minute Rosh Hashana preparation and in thinking about what the forthcoming year may mean for each of us, individually and together. On behalf of the entire Areyvut team, I wish you and your family a Shana Tova, a happy and healthy new year.
