 ram?\nWant to speak with experts in the field and get some ideas before yo
 ur program gets off the ground?\nJoin us at a Jewish Teen Philanthropy Sem
 inar. This seminar is geared at helping those new to the field of Jewish t
 een philanthropy and will address issues that may arise during one's first
  program year.\n\nCost: $75.00\n\nOnline registration will only be availab
 le through June 16th. All registrations made after June 16th will have to 
 be paid in full on the day of the seminar.\n\nThe following topics will be
  covered:\n\n\n\n\n* "Spread the word"\n         ~ PR\, marketing
  and recruitment\n\n* Breaking the ice\n~ Ice breakers\, team building and
  other group exercises\n\n\n* Communicating effectively\n~ Understanding t
 eens and social networking\n\n\n* Planning effective giving\n      
    ~ Site visits\, RFPs and allocations\n\n* Jewish sources and philant
 hropy\n~ Utilizing Jewish texts to enhance the Jewish teen philanthropy ex
 perience\n\n* Parent involvement\n~ Engaging parents through Jewish teen p
 hilanthropy\n\n\n\n\nMany leaders in the field are scheduled to present at
  this seminar. Below is a tentative schedule of the program.\n\n9:00- Regi
 stration\n\n9:30- Opening Plenary- Daniel Rothner\, Areyvut\n\n10:00-10:45
 - Introduction to Jewish Teen Philanthropy\, Stefanie Zelkind\, Jewish Tee
 n Funders Network \nSo what is Jewish teen philanthropy anyway? How do Je
 wish teen philanthropy programs work\, and what does it take to get one st
 arted? This session will provide an overview of growing the field\, highli
 ght “promising practices” culled from the 85+ Jewish teen philanthropy
  programs throughout North America\, and break down the key components of 
 a successful program.\n\n11:00-12:00- The Parent Toolbox: Helping parents 
 nurture their teen’s interest in Tzedakah\, Ellen Israelson\, Jewish Com
 munal Fund \nThis session will offer information to help you empower pare
 nts to reinforce and enhance the learning you provide to their children in
  your tzedakah and chesed initiatives. It will cover some practical steps 
 for establishing giving as a family tradition including\, dos and don’ts
  of charitable giving\, how to create a family or teen charitable fund\, p
 lanning a charitable budget and interweaving giving with other family acti
 vities.\n\n11:00-12:00- Site Visits\, RFP &amp\; Allocations\, Alan Sweifa
 ch\, UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey\nHow do we conduct a site visit
 ? What is the best way to evaluate an RFP? How can we ensure that everyone
 ’s voice is heard during the allocations process? This session will addr
 ess all of these and related issues to help you make these core components
  more meaningful and successful.\n\n12:15-1:15- Lunch\n\nLearning from Alu

 nHere is your chance to hear from alumni from teen philanthropy programs a
 nd to learn how the programs impacted and inspired them.\n\n1:30-2:30- Tex
 t Study &amp\; Jewish Philanthropy\, Shira Hammerman\, Areyvut\nWe will le
 arn Jewish texts\, see how they relate to teen philanthropy and teach conc
 rete ways of using the texts to infuse your program with Jewish content.\n
 \n1:30-2:30- Spreading the Word: PR\, Marketing and Recruitment\, Mike Bac
 zynski\, Geri Dawes\, Deborah Herr &amp\; Tom Murphy\, 3-D Communications
  &amp\; Green Lion Digital\nWe are starting a new teen philanthropy! Now w
 hat should we do to spread the word? Learn about the various aspects of ma
 rketing a teen philanthropy program including a brochure\, ad and applicat
 ion\, direct mail\, media\, social networking and branding.\n\n2:45-3:45- 
 Jewish Identity in the Age of Facebook\, David Bryfman\, Board of Jewish E
 ducation of Greater New York-SAJES\nCyber social networking is integral to
  Jewish teen identity today. Whether we are enthusiasts or skeptics\, unde
 rstanding tools such as Facebook and Twitter\, are vital for anyone wantin
 g to understand teenagers today. This session will explore teen identity i
 n a cyber era\, ways in which the Jewish community has both leveraged and 
 avoided these technologies\, as well as strategies to deal with safety rel
 ated issues on these online social networking platforms.\n\n2:45-3:45- Cho
 ose Your Own Adventure\, Celeste Albert\, Jewish Community Youth Foundati
 on\nHow many times do we need to meet? What type of staff do we need? What
  is the best way to communicate with the participants and their parents? H
 ow long should sessions be? This session will explore the basic questions 
 and components you need to address as you build your teen philanthropy pro
