DESCRIPTION:Due to COVID-19 and the Coronavirus pandemic all in person prog
 rams have been canceled or postponed until further notice. We have develop
 ed a wide array of resources available at http://bit.ly/2wU5CTS and are 
 now offering Daily Virtual Mitzvah Opportunities.\n\nEach day will feature
  a particular theme that offers ideas that can be done virtually as well a
 s suggestions that can be implemented in the future.\n\nAll of these progr
 ams are dedicated:\n\n 	In memory of those that have been lost to COVID-19
 .  We feel for each and every family and may they be comforted amongst th
 e mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.\n 	For a quick and complete recovery for
  those currently battling COVID-19.  We pray for you and your families.\n
  	In honor of the heroes and first reponders\, the medical staff\, deliver
 y workers and all those serving with distinction at this much challenging 
 time to keep us safe.  We thank you and acknowledge your courage\, braver
 y\, dedicate\, commitment and sacrifice and when this is over we will neve
 r forget your leadership and personal example.\n\nToday’s theme is: Resp
 ecting and Caring for the Elderly \n\nYou shall rise before a venerable pe
 rson and you shall respect the elderly\, and you shall fear your God. I am
  the Lord (Leviticus 19:32)                               
                                                  
                \n\nToday:\n\n 	Contact your local senior center\, 
 nursing home or assisted living facility and see what you can to actively 
 help them and their residents at this time.\n 	Phone or video-chat with yo
 ur grandparents\, elderly friends and community members.\n 	Volunteer to c
 all a senior citizen who does not have family several times a week in orde
 r to check in on them.\n 	Volunteer to do a grocery run for an older relat
 ive or neighbor.\n 	Help the elderly discover new ways to stay in touch: W
 hatsApp\, Zoom and Facebook.\n\nInto the future:\n\n 	Spend time visiting 
 residents at a senior center\, nursing home or assisted living facility.\n
  	Offer to drive a senior citizen to a doctor’s appointment.\n 	Go on a 
 walk with a senior citizen in your neighborhood.\n 	Invite a senior citize
 n to your home for a meal.\n 	Check in on senior citizens on your block an
