SUMMARY:Ready\, Set\, Serve
DESCRIPTION:The past two years Areyvut has run 5 Days/5 Ways\, a one week C
 hesed/Service Camp.  This summer in lieu of running 5 Days/5 Ways\, we ha
 ve decided to partner with our friends and dear colleagues at the Bergen V
 olunteer Center on Ready\, Set\, Serve\, a 3 day summer service and lead
 ership experience for incoming Middle School students.\n\nWhat is Ready\,
  Set\, Serve?\nReady\, Set\, Serve is a fun and challenging summer program
  for incoming Middle School students who want to be leaders and make posit
 ive change in their school and community.\n\nParticipants will be immersed
  in interactive\, interesting\, fun activities and learning valuable leade
 rship skills they need to make a difference.  The focus is on community s
 ervice - they will participate in challenging exercises including communit
 y needs analysis\, goal setting\, team building\, project planning\, decis
 ion making and other dynamic leadership skills.\n\nMuch of the curriculum 
 is based on Generation On's Go Leads program\, a nationally recognized you
 th service organization.  Generation On\, part of the Hands On Network an
 d the Points of Light Institute\, inspires young people to become tomorrow
 's leaders.\n\nThe Ready\, Set\, Serve experience continues beyond the one
  week in summer.  Over the course of the academic year\, participants wil
 l design and implement a community service project.\n\nThis is a unique an
 d rewarding opportunity for incoming Middle School students.\n\nSchedule 
 \n\nMonday\, August 20 -Wednesday\, August 22\n9:00 am -3:00 pm\n\nAll ses
 sions take place at:\nBergen Volunteer Center\n64 Passaic Street\nHackensa
 ck\, NJ 07601\n\nParticipants will meet during the school year to discuss 
 and work on their individual or group service projects.\n\nAreyvut Connect
 ion\n\nReady\, Set\, Serve will be run by the Bergen Volunteer Center and 
 Areyvut will be leading a session during the program and facilitating one 
 of the service projects during the academic year.  Additionally\, all Are
 yvut connected participants that complete Ready\, Set\, Serve will receive
  $50 to facilitate a chesed/service project at their school\, synagogue or
  in their community and be invited to serve on the inaugural group of the 
 Areyvut Junior Teen Board\, a new group comprised of Middle School student
 s that will meet periodically throughout the academic year to help plan an

 $350.  The fee includes all materials\, snacks\, beverages and lunch on 
 Wednesday.  Participants will provide their own lunch on Monday and Tuesd
