DESCRIPTION:Monday\, May 4\, 2009\n\nOn Monday\, May 4 through Thursday\, M
 ay 7\, 2009\, the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA) held its 50th annual
  convention in Congregation Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck\, NJ. The program hig
 hlighted many challenges facing the Orthodox rabbinate and Jewish life in 
 America today.\n\nDaniel Rothner\, Areyvut's Founder and Director\, attend
 ed the conference on Wednesday\, May 6\, where he informally consulted wit
 h conference attendees to discuss Areyvut programming and ways to create a
  more caring community. He also heard from rabbis about innovative program
 s that they are implementing in their synagogues and communities. Rabbis w
 ho attended the conference were given copies of Areyvut's 2009 "A Kindness
  a Day" desk calendar and were encouraged to incorporate the calendar and 
 its messages into their programming\, sermons and synagogue.\n\nIf you are
