SUMMARY:A Teen Philanthropy Experience
DESCRIPTION:Areyvut is pleased to offer A Teen Philanthropy Experience\, a 
 Jewish teen philanthropy program to 8th-11th grade students at Temple Shaa
 ray Tefila of Northern Westchester.\n\nPhilanthropy and tzedakah are core 
 Jewish values. Participants will learn what philanthropy means and the dif
 ference between philanthropy and tzedakah. Participants will each contribu
 te $100 and work as a board to determine community needs\, develop a missi
 on and ultimately allocate those funds. They will impact each other\, the 
 community and learn and develop skills that encourage them to give thought
 fully throughout their lives.\n\nWe are thrilled to partner with the Templ
 e Shaaray Tefila on this unique program and are confident it will be a mea
 ningful and exciting program for all those involved.\n\nAreyvut will be fa
 cilitating this program on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 at the synag
 ogue.\n\nProgram dates: November 20\, December 18\, January 15\, February 
 26\, March 5 and April 2.\n\nThis course is part of the Westchester Jewis
 h Teen Learning Initiative (WJTLI)\, coordinated by The Jewish Education P
 roject with generous funding from UJA-Federation of New York and Neshamot.
