DESCRIPTION:We initially posted this prior to COVID-19 and now know that du
 e to the Coronavirus many graduate\, college and high school students inte
 rnships and/or summer plans have likely changed. If you like what you see 
 below and are interested in partnering with us to actively make a differen
 ce please let us know. For now do not worry about these dates and assume t
 hat Interns can start as early as May 18 and can work from anywhere in the
  world. Our Summer Interns have had a powerful impact on Areyvut\, the Jew
 ish and general non-profit communities in the past and with your help this
  summer will be no different.\n\nLaunched in 2002\, Areyvut infuses the li
 ves of Jewish youth with the core Jewish values of chesed (kindness)\, 
 tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (social action). Areyvut offers a va
 riety of opportunities to empower and enrich youth and make these core Jew
 ish values meaningful to them. Our target audience is middle and high scho
 ol students from all denominations of Judaism\, all types of Jewish educat
 ion and all levels of Jewish communal affiliation.\n\nAreyvut seeks Summer
  Interns who are eager to make a meaningful contribution\, learn about the
  non-profit world and challenge themselves.  The interns will plan and im
 plement events\, create\, develop and facilitate educational materials and
  programs.   This position is ideal for those interested in pursuing a c
 areer in education\, Jewish education\, non-profit\, development\, event p
 lanning and/or publishing.  To accommodate and maximize participation we 
 are offering three sessions:\n\nJune 1-June 25\n\nJune 29-July 23\n\nJuly 
 27-August 20\n\nThere is flexibility to begin earlier and/or stay later.\n
 \nInterns will be based at the Areyvut office in Bergenfield\, NJ (which i
 s accessible by public transportation and only 15 miles from Manhattan). T
 hey will work under the supervision of Daniel Rothner\, Areyvut Founder &a
 mp\; Director\, on Monday-Thursday from 9:30-3:30. This is a paid position
 .\n\nSpecific Responsibilities:\n\n 	Develop educational materials for Are
 yvut programs and resources including  National Mitzvah Day\, the A Kindn
 ess a Day Calendar and #24HoursofKindness\n 	Create a curriculum for Kindn
 ess Clubs for senior citizens\, middle school and high school advisory\n 	
 Make infographics for holidays\n 	Engage day schools\, synagogues\, JCC’
 s and other agencies in Areyvut’s programs\, events and resources\n 	Att
 end\, support and facilitate fundraising events as necessary\n 	Serve as a
 n ambassador and advocate for Areyvut in the community\n 	Provide general 
 administrative support to Areyvut\n\nKey Competencies and Qualifications:\
 n\n 	Current college or graduate student\n 	Relevant experience developing
 \, facilitating and/or implementing creative Jewish and/or educational pro
 gramming (experience with service learning\, teen philanthropy\, summer ca
 mp and/or experiential education STRONGLY preferred)\n 	Exceptional interp
 ersonal and communication skills\, including strong writing and editing sk
 ills\n 	Solid organizational skills and excellent attention to detail\n 	A
 bility to manage multiple assignments\, prioritize and meet deadlines\n 	C
 reativity and flexibility\n 	Capacity to work both independently and as pa
 rt of an entrepreneurial team\n 	Commitment to professional growth and lea
 rning\n 	Passion for Areyvut’s vision and mission\n\nCompensation:\n\nIn
 terns who complete a full session full time will receive $500 stipend at t
 he conclusion of that session.  Participants who continue with their proj
 ect and/or help facilitate Areyvut programs during the academic year will 
 receive $500 at the end of the fall semester.  Those who are involved dur
 ing the fall semester are eligible to continue during the spring semester 
 and will receive $500 at the conclusion of the spring semester.\n\nInteres
