SUMMARY:2020 Shabbos Project
DESCRIPTION:\n\nShabbat is an age-old holiday that has bound the Jewish peo
ple together for generations.  To create a sense of renewal within the co
 mmunity\, the Chief Rabbi\, Rabbi Warren Goldstein\, in 2013 offered a sim
ple solution: Jews from all walks of life – across the spectrum of relig
ious affiliation\, young and old\, and from all corners of the world – c
ome together to celebrate this day of rest.\n\nThe initiative was such a r
unaway success that communities around the world began calling the rabbi a
sking to participate the following year\, 2014.  And thus The Shabbat Pro
ject was born.\n\nAreyvut was pleased to take the lead in coordinating eve
nts in Bergen County that first year including a Challah Bake and CommUNIT
Y Concert after Shabbat.  The video for that Challah Bake is at https://w
ww.youtube.com/watch?v=89qYpz3DW7k and we acknowledge and thank those agen
cies that has worked since that time to build on that initial success and
plan local events that have empowered and impacted hundreds and thousands.
\n\nSince the first project’s inception\, thousands of events have been
celebrated in more than 1\,600 cities around the world.  Endless celebrit
ies have jumped on board to promote this grassroots movement.  And it con
tinues to grow.\n\nThe Shabbat Project is about creating a new Jewish futu
re together.\n\nWhile 2020 presents its share of challenges\, the show and
the Shabbos Project must go on.  For resources\, events and lots more in
formation\, please visit https://www.theshabbosproject.org/ and tell them
that Areyvut sent you.\n\nIf you want to explore Areyvut participating in
